BLUE VERVAIN (Verbena hastata) is a tall plant with lance-shaped leaves and bright blue blooms on pencil size spikes. Blue Vervain has naturalized throughout the eastern United States in moist thickets. Leaves and roots are used medicinally to threat a number of ailments. It is known to possess tranquilizing properties. It is used to treat insomnia and other nervous problems. Taken cold, an infusion acts as a tonic. Externally, the tea heals sores and wounds. Vervain has a long documented history of association with magic, being used by the druids and sorcerers in their ceremonies. It was at one time believed to be an aphrodisiac, being sacred to Venus.

Germinating, planting and harvesting instructions are always included with my herb seed.
