My Bittersweet Magick is proud to announce and carry Green Genes Botanical Soaps.  You will find  that these soaps are of a Superior Herbal  Blend.  Each soap has two sizes, the 1 ounce trial and  personal size for $1.25,  and the 4.5 ounce family  sized bar for $4.50.  Honestly, this soap is worth twice as much!

information about the ingredients

Green Genes soaps are handmade in Sedro Woolley, Washington, USA.  Only the finest all Vegetable Oils, Pure Essential Oils, all Natural Colorings, and Texturizers are used. Each bar formulated falls into one of four different categories or skin types.  Our specialty soaps are hand cut and beveled to roll nicely in your hands.  Each bar is generously sized making them last for an extended amount of time, especially long lasting are the soaps in which clay has been added.

Soap Base - Moisturizing Soaps are made with a high percentage of Olive Oil and are superfatted with rich nourishing oils.  While Coconut and Palm Oils are added for their hardness and sudsy lathering capabilities.  Drying Soaps contain only Coconut and Palm oils.  These oils are more naturally drying and make for harder bars.  Glycerin is produced during the saponification process and is present in all handmade soaps.

Pure Essential Oils - Essential Oils are derived from plants and contain all of the beneficial and therapeutic properties of the plant.  By comparison, fragrance oils are synthetically derived scents and are more prone to induce an allergic reaction.  The Essential Oils were selected, first, based on their skin care properties, and secondly, for their scent.  Complex blends of essential Oils were created for a well balanced and interesting aroma profile.

Superfat Oils - Superfatting is the process in which moisturizing oil is added to the saponification reaction resulting in a  free oil in the bar that remains on your skin after bathing thus moisturizing your skin.  Oils such as Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Kukui Nut, Wheat Germ and Vitamin E  all moisturize hydrate, heal, soothe, soften, nourish, hydrate, and above all else are easily absorbed by the skin.  Jojoba Oil is also a humectant, promoting moisture retention by the skin.

Herbs - Herbs used are either grown in our garden or acquired from reputable suppliers.  They may be steeped into teas, extracted into oils, and added in loose form for texture, visual appeal and aroma.  Herbs such as Comfrey, Calendula, Peppermint, and Marshmallow Root are all nourishing and healing to the skin.

Demulcent - A demulcent is a softening and soothing agent often used to protect the skin against irritation, also used to soothe an already inflamed or abraded area.  A widely used demulcent is Oatmeal.

Exfoliative - An exfoliative is any coarse materials added to the soap to provide texture that aids in the removal of dirt and dead skin cells.  Cornmeal, Poppy seeds, Clays, Herbs and Oatmeal are all exfoliative, although Oatmeal does double duty as a Demulcent as it also soothes and heals.

Clays - Clays are both stringent and exfoliating, clearing pores of blockages by drawing out excess sebum..  Green Genes Soaps contain one or more of the following:  Green Clay, French Pink Clay, Bentonite Clay, White Clay, and Pumice. Clays are incorporated into the soap bars especially formulated for oily and acne prone skin types.

Colorings - Only natural colorings are used by Green Genes Botanical Soap Company.  Annatto seed is used to color the soaps a creamy butter yellow.  Chlorophyll is used for all shades of green and Alkanet root is used to achieve the purple / grey coloring used in our Flower Garden soap.

Dry Skin Types 

Available Green Genes Botanical Soaps:  Green Tea, Kelp, Natural Peppermint, Spicy Oatmeal, Flower Garden.

This soap formulation uses moisture rich Olive Oil with Coconut and Palm Oils.  The Dry Skin formula soaps are also superfatted with extra moisturizing agents and contain any of the following:  Shea Butter, Aloe Vera, Jojoba, Sweet Almond, Kukui Nut, Wheat Germ, or Vitamin E Oils.  Some also have an added demulcent.

Oily and Acne Prone Skin Types

Available Green Genes Botanical Soaps:  Desert, Lavender & Clay, Tea Tree with Pumice, and Natural Peppermint (for dry & oily combination skin with acne) .

This soap formulation (with the exception of Natural Peppermint) is not superfatted with moisturizers and does not use Olive Oil.  Instead we use fixed Coconut and Palm Oils which are naturally more drying and produce a larger, sudsier lather.  The additions of clays and or pumice add to the drying as well as exfoliating capabilities of our Oily and Acne Prone Skin type Soaps.

Medicinal Blends

Available Green Genes Botanical Soaps:  Tea Tree with Pumice, Calendula, Apothecary.

Soaps in this category may be either of a drying or of a moisturizing formula, the unifying factor being ingredients that have extra medicinal values.  For instance, the Essential Oil of Tea Tree is a know Antiseptic, Antiviral, Antifungal, and Antibacterial.

SensitiveSkin Types

Available Green Genes Botanical Soaps:  Just Soap.

This soap formulation is our simple and basic moisture rich soap specifically made for sensitive and dry skin types as well as sensitive noses.  Just Soap contains moisture rich Olive Oil with Coconut and Palm Oils as well as being superfatted with Kukui Nut Oil.  That's It!  Just Soap has NO added Essential Oils, Herbs, Colorings, or Texturizings making this the purefect cleansing bar for soap purists, the very young, and very old alike.

Item(s) will be shipped via USPS First Class Mail for the first six soap bars ($3.25), and USPS Priority Mail for seven or more bars ($5.00)!  If purchasing more than 20 bars at once, Your shipping rate will change from $5.00 to $8.40 for USPS Priority Mail as a larger sized box is needed for shipment.  Although we will ship Worldwide, the shipping methods and fees will differ from those listed.
