EAST INDIAN LEMON GRASS (Cymbopogon flexuosus) is an aromatic grass that comes from southern India. It is the source of lemon grass oil. It is a vigorous plant that grows in basal clumps from which long leaves, up to 36" can grow. This tropical perennial grown as an annual, yields a high quantity of leaves in one year. It has fibrous leaves with a stiff mid-rib and has a strong bitter lemon scent. It is used in Thai cooking or as a medicinal tea. It also makes an excellent potpouris. The oil extracted from the leaves are used to flavor chewing gum, candy, desserts and pastries as well as used in cosmetics and perfumes.
Germinating, planting and harvesting instructions are always included with my herb seed. These seeds are much too small for me to count but I would estimate that you will receive 250-300 seeds in your package.
